| Description | The State of New Jersey Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program is accredited by the National Consortium of Certified Public Managers, which represents CPM Programs in over 40 states. The CPM Program is designed around the core leadership requirements established by the National Consortium of Certified Public Managers. The curriculum was developed jointly by Rutgers University's School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) and the State of New Jersey's Civil Service Commission to meet the complex demands and challenges of the 21st-century public management environment. Government employees and nonprofit professionals are welcome to apply.
This program is offered in multiple locations throughout New Jersey.
All candidates for the NJ CPM Program must apply to the New Jersey Civil Service Commission. An application package is available online with instructions at: spaa.newark.rutgers.edu/cpm
After you are accepted into the CPM Program, you will be placed in a Cohort, where all the students attend the same classes together.
The NJ CPM Program consists of 22 courses. Each course consists of classes that meet once a week every week, over a 10 month period. The CPM program hours includes 252 classroom hours, plus a 50 hour work-related project.
Graduates earn 30.2 Continuing Education Units (CEU). Graduates can earn up to 15 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits at the School of Public Affairs and Administration.
